Analysis Related
:
Q. How many stocks do you
presently cover?
A. We presently cover ALL the securities listed on the
Nasdaq (>3000), NYSE (>3500), and AMEX (>1000)
Q. Do you cover Exchange-Traded
Funds (ETF)?
A. Yes, we also track all ETFs on the Nasdaq, NYSE and
AMEX
Q. Do you factor in the stock
fundamentals and other external factors in your
analysis?
A. No. The only 3 parameters essential to determining
the likely future directional movement of any stock are
its price, volume and speed (time) of transactions.
However, knowing & understanding the fundamentals and
other external factors of any stock will certainly help
you in risk management.
Q. Day trading, swing trading,
momentum trading, long term trading, buy-and-hold ;
which one of these trading styles does your system apply
to?
A. We do not cater our stock analysis to a specific
trading style. Given that stocks can and do behave
differently in different time periods, we believe that
analysis that dynamically accommodates each stock,
together with capital preservation and proper money
management is key to making money consistently in the
stock markets.
Q. Why is the signal accuracy (viz-a-viz
the Historical Performance Record %) different for
individual stocks?
A. Given the different dynamics of the trading behavior
of individual stocks, the signals generated from our
system may be more accurate on certain stocks and less
on others. Reasons for this include, but are not limited
to, stock volatility, trading volumes (active versus
inactive issues), free float, length of trading history
(how long it’s been listed) etc
Q. Why do you also analyze
stocks that show low signal accuracy?
A. For stocks that exhibit signals with lower
accuracy (<50%) due to limitations of our system and/or
lack of trading history, we continue to analyze and
track them to improve their future directional
predictability.
Q: I see certain stocks that
show a Historical Performance Record of 0%. Does this
mean that I should avoid these stocks altogether?
A: Stocks that show a HPR of 0% are typically
newly-listed IPOs with very short trading histories. If
you see a buy signal then it represents the very first
buy signal generated since the stock was listed.
Q: There are also stocks that
show Historical Performance Record of 100%. Does this
mean they are guaranteed to make me money if I follow
your buy/sell signals?
A: For all stocks that show HPR of 100%, it
may be fortuitous that ALL the buy/sell signals
generated by our system up to that point in time have
been correct - hence, the 100% track record. However,
past performance is not necessarily indicative, and
should not be used as a basis for future performance of
the system capability.
Q: What is the holding period after the Entry/Exit
signals come out?
A: This is
stock-dependent. Volatile stocks typically exhibit
shorter trading cycles, ranging from days, while less
volatile stocks may trend longer into the weeks and
months. Hence, the length of time it takes to go from a
buy signal through to a sell signal will also vary
accordingly. Trending stocks tend to exhibit longer
holding periods, but may experience intermediate
profit-taking so the recommended approach is to monitor
these stocks on a daily basis.
Take a look
at some of the S&P 100 stock charts here which show you
their respective entry/exit signals and their
corresponding trading cycles represented by the bullish
and bearish regions
Q. If a stock is either bullish
(bearish), can I proceed to buy (sell) or accumulate
(short some more) and add to my earlier positions?
A. While a bullish (bearish) stock is likely to move
upward (downward) or go sideways, there is always a
possibility of an impending reversal that may compromise
your positions. Exercise caution and prudent money
management to mitigate any potential risks.
Q. What time do you post all the analysis at the end of
each day?
A. We will post all the analysis by 9PM EST
